What exactly does the phrase mean, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper."?

Isaiah 54:17

ESV - 17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

God tells us that weapons and words used against us will not be successful. We must condemn such malicious behavior knowing we are with God and He will not forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)

Israel is protected by God, but without accepting Jesus as a nation, that protection is going to end, just like it ended when Jerusalem was destroyed the first and second time!

"No weapon formed against you will prosper," is God's way of telling Israel, specifically Israel, that no one would ever be able to annihilate them. They might kill 6,000,000 of them in a short period of time, but they wouldn't be able to destroy them. It's a promise with an eternal view in mind. They have been threatened with annihilation a few times. That's what God is telling them, and telling us ABOUT THEM, (not us). Israel will forever have a king on the throne. He is an Israelite; His name is Jesus. And of His kingdom there will be no end (Luke 1:33). Here's the part of the verse to really pay attention to: "He will reign over the house of Jacob forever..."

There it is! Regardless of what Jews believe or teach or anything else. He rules over the house of Jacob. No weapon formed against them will prosper.

Weapons are formed for the purpose of annihilation. That's what that scripture is about. It ain't gonna happen with Israel.

When the church gets all excited and glum on to scriptures cherry picked by a pastor to get his people amped, it blesses the people to commit to their faith. But it can also get the people to focus too much on their own individual lives, and not on the Lord Jesus. That's why I come on like I do. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about!!

People lose their job and they claim, "No weapon formed against me will prosper." It sounds good, but it's completely out of the context of why God told Isaiah to tell His people that...
