The power of the Holy Spirit is the power that raised Christ from the dead. Only God Himself has the power to bring life from death. The word for power in the Greek language is "dunamis" where we get the English word dynamo. In the Bible it is the attribute of God displayed in his inherent power. He still works in that power today. Holy Spirit is the power living in the believer. He is he one who has brought our dead spirit to life.
Matthew 3:16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:" Mat 3:17 "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." The Holy Spirit is much more than just a personality of God, he is a personage, a member of the Triune God head. 1.We see Christ coming up out of the water. 2.The Holy Spirit descending like a dove then lighting on Christ. 3. The voice speaking from heaven at the same time referring to Christ as "my beloved Son". 1 Timothy 3:16 " And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory."
It is my opinion that the Holy Spirit is the personality of God, so to speak. He is the one who makes things happen. Apostle Paul defines His gifts for man. The gifts are used to setup His church, to convict sinners. He is everywhere and available to all Christians, during our times of struggle and need. He is even with us after death, marking us until we reach heaven.
The power of the Holy Spirit is giving salvation and eternal life to those who believe in Jesus (John 6: 63-65).
Acts 11:16 John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, (First Corinthians 15:1-4) in whom also after ye believed were sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:14 The Holy Spirit is our guarantee of eternal life. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit in whom ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. The rapture of the church. Can the Holy Spirit leave a believer. No, Hebrews 13:5 And be content with such things as ye have, for He hath said, I will never leave you or forsake you. IT is the POWER of the Holy Spirit that keeps us saved. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also the Greek. What if we do not believe it any more? First Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, He abideth faithful, He can not deny Himself. Second Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the foundation of God is sure, having this seal, (the Holy Spirit) the Lord knoweth them that are His, and let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. First John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doeth not commit sin, for His Seed (the Holy Spirit) remaineth in him, and He can not sin because He is born of God. But we still do. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Christ died for our sins. All of them forever. John 3:18 Believers can never be condemned again. The Holy Spirit is our comforter. First Thessalonians 4:18 We are to comfort one another with these words. First Thessalonians 4:13-18. The Holy Spirit is our teacher of scriptures. First Corinthians 2:14. Romans 8:9 Without the Spirit of God there is no salvation, with the Spirit we have eternal life. John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. And my Father who is greater than all, no one can pluck us out of His hand. John 6:40 And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up on the last day. It is our soul/spirit that is saved. Not the flesh or our old nature. That is why we all die. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me HATH EVERLASTING LIFE. Present tense. Because of the seal of the Holy Spirit in us He will never cast us out. John 6:37. Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believe on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness apart from works. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. The Holy Spirit is our righteousness before God. When He sees us, He sees His Son and declares us righteous because of His Spirit that lives in all believers. John 3:18 Believers can never be condemned again because of the Seal of the Holy Spirit in us.
