Daniel 9:27, the short version, This may be the most abused verse on the subject of the end times, and it is a linchpin in the Pre-tribulation Rapture theory: "Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering." "He" in this verse refers to Messiah, not Antichrist, for the main subject of this section is Messiah. Protestants, referring to Isaiah 28:15 and "a covenant with death," say that the Antichrist makes a peace treaty for one week—seven years—with the Jews. But this makes no sense! Why would the Beast "destroy the city [Jerusalem] and the sanctuary" (Daniel 9:26), and "then... confirm a covenant... for one week" (verse 27) with the vanquished Jews? The timing is wrong! Verses 26-27a speak of events that occurred in the first century. It makes more sense to attribute this covenant to our Savior. He was "cut off, but not for Himself" (verse 26a) by His redemptive death in AD 31. He had spent 3½ years "confirm[ing] a covenant [the New Covenant] with many," and "in the middle of the week He [brought] an end to sacrifice and offering" (verse 27a) by the sacrifice of His perfect life. This simply restates what is said in verse 26a. If this is the case, the whole idea of seven years of tribulation vanishes.
Second period, 434 years, at which time the Messiah will be crucified (Daniel 9:26). See what Michael said about the 483 years and Palm Sunday. Since this is a complicated prophecy and Michael already has unpacked it, let me just speak about the second perdiod (Dan 9:26) Daniel predicted that this Anointed One, the Christ, will not be permitted to rule; for His people cried out, “We have no king but Caesar” (John 19:15). “We will not have this man to reign over us” (Luke 19:14). The Messiah will be “cut off, but not for himself” (“and will have nothing,” NIV). This speaks of His rejection by the Jewish nation (John 1:11; Luke 13:33-35) and His crucifixion as a criminal, turned over to the Roman authorities by His own people and one of His own disciples. But He died for the sins of the world, including the sins of the Jewish nation. WWW (3) Third period, 7 years, a reference to the coming Great Tribulation (Daniel 9:27) So, as you can see, some of the prophecy in Daniel 9:24-27 has already been fulfilled, and the rest will be fulfilled in the end times. We are today living in the age of the church, when Israel has been partially blinded and temporarily set aside (Rom. 9-11). Like Paul, we must have a heart concern for the Jewish people, pray for them, and seek to share the gospel with them. Gentile believers have a debt to the people of Israel (Rom. 5:24-27) because they gave us the knowledge of the true and living God, the inspired written Scriptures, and the Savior, Jesus Christ. Daniel's seventy sevens is seven workers who work 15 weeks. The 15 weeks are broken into 3 groups. God has seven weeks and seven workers. All of the weeks are revelation weeks. Israel has seven weeks and 62 workers. All of the weeks are curse weeks. Adopted or the youngest has one week and one worker. The week is a revelation. Weeks are stories. Anyone who has read the bible through knows these stories. Two weeks which are easy to pick out are: (1) Genesis week and (10) passion week. I will list the weeks to the specific group. God's weeks are: 1. Genesis Week, 2. Ark of the Covenant Week, 3. Temple Week, 4. Immanuel Week, 5. Passion Week, 6. Pentecost Week, and 7. 2nd Pentecost Week. Israel*s weeks are: 1. Joseph and slavery Week, 2. Simeon and famine Week, 3. Levi and wilderness Week 4. Judah and Babylon Week, 5. Issachar and 70 AD Jerusaelm Week, 6. Zebulun and holocaust Week, and 7. Benjamin and the death of Rachel's children Week. The adopted or youngest week is the First Resurrection Week. To keep it simple, 70 weeks are 70 workers who work 15 weeks. The example would be like construction workers going to work specific sites in a week for a company. If a company had 70 workers and 15 work sites, not all workers would go to the one site. The workers would be divided up and sent to work one of the 15 specific work sites.
