"But with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
1 Corinthians 10:13
ESV - 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

An important thing to remember is that Satan is the master deceiver. In that moment of powerful temptation, we won't even want to remember and claim God's promises. (How do I know that? Don't ask!) One thing Satan whispers to us is that the temptation is too powerful, and we might as well give in. LIE. Back to the question: the way of escape is unique to that situation. As a Christian, I know I have the Holy Spirit within me, and I need to ask Him to show me the way of escape that I need. And WAIT for Him. For sure, I need to RE-FOCUS. Open God's Word to favorite Scriptures whether I feel like it or not. Whoever said, "This Book will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from this Book", was right on! Sometimes the Holy Spirit will direct me to a specific activity or task, that jolts my mind away from the desire for that forbidden thing, and before I know it, I'm busy and enjoying His fellowship.
God empowers me to overcome temptation if I obey Him (1 Corinthians 10:13-22). God lets me be tempted because He knows how much I can take; and He always provides a way to escape if I trust Him and use it. See https://biblia.com/verseoftheday/image/2021-02-19 The believer who thinks he stands falls; but the believer who flees actually stands. Paul had already told his readers to “flee fornication” (1 Corinthians 6:18); and now his warning is “Flee from idolatry” (1 Cor. 10:14). He explained the reason why: the idol itself is nothing, but it can be used by Satan to lead you into sin. Idolatry is demonic (Deut. 32:17; Ps. 106:37). To sit at an idol’s table could mean fellowship (“communion, partakers”) with demons. Paul was again enforcing the important doctrine of separation from sin (2 Cor. 6:11-7:1). I praise my Father for knowing my carrying capacity. John Rollo tells the story of a customer who one day went into a draper’s shop and saw a small boy standing with outstretched arms, while the proprietor of the shop placed package after package form the shelves into his waiting arms. As the pile grew higher and higher and the weight increased, the customer turned to the boy and said, ‘My lad, you’ll never be able to carry all that.’ Turning round, the boy replied with a smile, ‘My father knows how much I can carry.’ (1 Corinthians 10:13) While on my Savior I rely, I know my foes shall lose their aim, And therefore dare their power defy, Assured of conquest through His Name. Here is a demonstration of various facets of escape for the believer. Escape Pictured (Gen. 39:9-10) Escape Promised (1 Cor. 10:13) Escape Practiced (2 Tim. 2:22) --SMF
