I believe the two religions are controlled by different spirits; the spirit of Christ and the spirit of anti Christ. As such, the anti Christ spirit will always war against Christ's spirit even as it has always been since the time of Ishmael and Isaac.
Christians will never reconcile with Muslims without a divine intervention to make it possible. In fact, it make take Christ's second coming to reveal the basis for any potential reconciliation. Islam was born in war and violence, and violently conquered large land areas. Wherever they have spread, they have earned the enmity of the prior religions, such as Christianity, Judaism and Hinduism. Their violent tendencies and expectation of engaging in battle to spread their religion is the first and foremost reason for the animosity Christians and many others hold toward Islam. The specific reasons for Muslims hating Christians I leave to Michael and others to go into.
I am a Christian. I lived and worked in Riyadh and Jeddah Saudi Arabia for 5 years. The Muslim people treated me, a Christian, wonderfully. It is not the Christian and Muslim people, but Christian and Muslim leaders that create and cause us problems. I saw Muslim secret religious police (Mabahith) scaring all Muslim people, as well as Christians.
The Muslim God Alah has no savior. How can anyone be saved without a savior. Jesus is our savior who gives eternal life as a free gift to all who accept his one blood sacrifice for sin. John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, that WHOSOEVER, believeth in Him, should not perish, but HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. First John 2:2. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. But only those who have believed it are saved. John 3:18 John 6:40. John 6:29. John 6:47. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The kind good people of Austria were shocked learning that the Muslims they’ve invited to live among and benefit from them hold to various divisive, if not downright hostile, doctrines? All Western leaders would do well to ponder this call for Muslims not to befriend non-Muslims as not some odd aberration unique to Islam in Austria, but is rather a mainstream Islamic teaching that goes straight back to the Koran. (Koran 3:28:) Let believers [Muslims] not take infidels [non-Muslims] for friends and allies in place of believers. Whoever does so will have nothing to hope for from Allah -- unless it is by way of taqiyya against them. But the matter is far worse than not befriending non-Muslims. (Koran 60:4) calls for Muslims to perpetually hate all non-Muslims until they “believe in Allah alone.” Here is how Osama bin Laden explained that verse: As to the relationship between Muslims and infidels, this is summarized by the Most High’s Word: “We renounce you. Enmity and hate shall forever reign between us -- till you believe in Allah alone” [Koran 60:4]. So there is an enmity, evidenced by fierce hostility from the heart. And this fierce hostility -- that is, battle -- ceases only if the infidel submits to the authority of Islam, or if his blood is forbidden from being shed [i.e., a dhimmi], or if Muslims are at that point in time weak and incapable [of going on the offensive]. But if the hate at any time extinguishes from the heart, this is great apostasy!… Such, then, is the basis and foundation of the relationship between the infidel and the Muslim. Battle, animosity, and hatred -- directed from the Muslim to the infidel -- is the foundation of our religion. (The Al Qaeda Reader, p. 43). (Koran 58:22) goes as far as to praise Muslims who kill their own non-Muslim family members. Because enmity for non-Muslims is so ironclad in the Koran, mainstream Islamic teaching holds that Muslim men must even hate -- and show that they hate -- their non-Muslim wives, while enjoying them sexually, or for their wealth, etc. "Surrender, become Muslim, and you will have peace" ~Aslam Taslam Arabic phrase translation In the Lord's freedom.. warrior on
