At least some of the people in ancient Biblical times were aware the Earth was a sphere as shown in the two verses below but, never are the Americas mentioned. No one knew of the 'New World' and, as far as I can determine from Scripture, they aren't mentioned at all.

Isaiah 40:22, ',He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.'

Job 26:7, ' He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.'

Given the state of America's declining morality and, the rise of secular humanism saying, no one is inherently sinful or immoral and need to decide for themselves what they think is best for their lives, I'm not sure the US will still be a prominent nation in the end times.

I hope and pray that as things continue to get worse, there are and will continue to be, people who will either come to or return to our Savior and that the Christians alive when the end times come are able to be a voice and a force against the Anti-Christ.

Pew Research Center has a very good website on Religion in America where they show statistics and break down religions with different sub-topics like 'Reading Scripture' and 'Guidance on Right and Wrong' along with many others.

Another excellent article by David Gushee on the decline of Christianity can be found here, http://religionnews.com/2016/09/06/why-is-christianity-declining/, providing a list of reasons too numerous to include here.

If America continues to be a world leader when the end times begin we may have a prominent role in peacekeeping and needed aid around the world as conditions worsen as Revelation predicts.

When Revelation unfolds as written, many people will be deceived into taking the mark of the beast, Rev 13:17, and be condemned but the faithful will either survive to the end or be raised to rule with Jesus, Rev 20:4, 'And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.'

For we Christians, I don't believe it matters what role the United States will play in those terrible times because, we were/are sealed forever in the Lord, Eph 1:13, 'In Him, you also (Gentiles), after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,' NASB.

We should continue to obey Christ in His statement to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, 'And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”'

Hudson Taylor, the great 19th century evangelist to China, popularized that scripture as the 'Great Commission'. He also was the first to call our being 'new creatures in Christ', the 'exchanged life', recognition that we died to sin and are now alive in Christ as we abide in Him and He in us.

Whatever America's role will be in tribulation times is in God's hands as are we and we already know the final outcome.

Praise God for His mercy, His wonderful grace, and His magnificient and abundant love!

There is evidence I believe of the USA in the Bible, along with other countries. If you read Daniel, it explains all these symbols and you see them come together in Revelation.

Daniel said, "I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another." (Beast here refers to nations they are symbols of countries).

It helps to know the history of the US and the world to help understand these prophecies because God told Daniel to seal these up until the appointed time. Some of these could not be revealed because they had not existed.

7. The first was like a lion (Great Britain), and had eagle’s wings (America): I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. (Daniel 7: 2-4)

How do we know this? Because history tells us the US came out of Great Britain this is where we gained independence from. If you look up these beast symbols listed in Daniel it tells you the countries that own these symbols. The bear (Russia), the leopard (Germany.)

Here's an excerpt from Irvin Baxter (who as I examine scripture I agree with):
