Michael was right: it was in the form of a perfect cube of 20 cubits. No one was permitted to enter it except the high priest, and that was only once a year. Other than that, this the 2nd or interior portion of the tabernacle was left in total darkness. --Easton's Bible Dictionary

I had a professor at Arizona Bible College in Phoenix, Arizona, who had in his classroom a huge set of curtains decorated as if they represented the Tabernacle and all its furnishings. They were beautiful! I loved his class. And I think he became Dr. Paul E. Eyman of ABC after I graduated. Formerly, ABC (Arizona Bible College) was Arizona Bible Institute.

Hebrews 10:19 says, "Therefore, my friends, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus." Dealing with this verse, Hebrews 10:19, a hymn writer by the name of D. S. Warner, wrote this hymn, which he entitled "Holy of Holies”:

Within this greater temple,
Built by the Son of God,
We’ve found a full salvation,
And entered through the blood.
Here on the mercy seat,
Beneath the cherubim,
We dwell in love complete,
And heaven’s glory hymn. 

Refrain:

Oh, sweet and tranquil home,
Where only God is known!

In the Epistle to the Hebrews we are taught that the true holy of holies is the heaven into which Jesus has now entered to appear in virtue of His own sacrifice in the presence of God for us (Heb 9:11 ff). Restriction is now removed, and the way into the holiest is made open for all His people (Heb 10:19,20).
