I assume this question was asked by a pastor. I don't imagine a pew member would ask what he / she can do to grow the membership of the church they attend. But it's hard to tell sometimes, and this is one of those times.

What does the scriptures say, if anything, about the growth of the church?

So the churches were strengthened in faith, and they increased in numbers daily (Acts 16:5).

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved (Acts 2:46, 47).

Day by day they praised God, and day by day he added to their assembly. I don't think the preacher can grow the church... without the help of the Lord.

I don't think the internet was invented without the help of the Lord. But I do believe that with the help of the Lord the internet can be invented, and the internet can help to grow the body of Christ (the universal church).

A preacher alone is just a messenger without a message.
