We have become joint heirs with Christ. (Romans 8:17) Receiving the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba! Father! (Rom 8:15) The Spirit Himself bears witness that we are children of God (v16). So being a child of God we are not just a little bit adopted. We are adopted in full and have become joint heirs with Jesus Christ. We see our Father running to us in the story Jesus related commonly called "The Prodigal Son". We are truly "Sons of God" as we see our Father running to us and taking us in though we have failed in our own eyes.

Thank you Father for truly making me your Son. In that way we are "children of the most High God" and if children, then by full adoption, gods. It takes the blood of Jesus for this to be. So we are not to be prideful, but humble in all things.
