The Bible contains many stories of children who despite their good training they rebelled.

God was the father of the first couple and they rebelled anyway (Luke 3:38; Gen 3).

Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu were disobedient and God destroyed them by fire (Lev 10:1, 2).

Eli and Samuel’s sons despite their good upbringing did not walked in the way of their fathers (1 Samuel 2:12; 8:3).

Although good training in fear and respect of God would greatly increase a child’s chances to succeed in life and stay close to the Lord – there is no guarantee that child will not rebel. Even if in his early years a child might rebel, having a sound Christian education, later in life that training might prove beneficial and play an important role in that person's walk with God.
