Sometimes, in fact many times, the easiest path is actually the wrong path. "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." Matt 7:13

Fortunately, there are many ways we can find the 'answer' to a dilemma.

Scripture: Does one path conflict? It's the wrong one. While more often we face 'gray areas,' in cases where it is cut and dry scripture can eliminate possibilities.
The Spirit: Is the Holy Spirit convicting towards one way or away from another? While we do not always get this clear prompting, we should be open to listen.
Other believers: Sometimes other believers have been given spiritual gifts or insight that might help us decide.
Choice: It might not be a matter of only one path being the right one. It could be that both are viable options.

And one I find very helpful: Core values/personality/talent/meaning. Spend a few minutes writing down things you find important or enjoy doing. Then make a chart with both options at the top. Make a pro/con column underneath. Start writing pros and cons for each option. Evaluate those.

I helped my sister do this once when she was debating between pursuing her 'dream job' or ministry in Nepal. She found that the positives under the job were things like 'people will respect me' whereas the positives under the ministry were things like 'I can make a difference.' She chose Nepal since it fulfilled her at a deeper level and had greater purpose to it.
