Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, as we look at this scripture and think about it purely from a natural standpoint, it seems to make perfect sense. After all, who desires to be around someone that is constantly "tooting their own horn"? Frankly, they make you miserable and after a while you just want to yell at them to "HUSH! I'm sick of you bragging on yourself!" Yes, there is a spiritual side to this (as with everything)! Remember Job? His self-righteous claim before an Almighty God? "I made the widow's hearts sing." Job 29:13. Who gave him the strength and the money to give to the widows? GOD! Job had forgotten this in his pride. When some of this was finally pointed out to him by a daysman Elihu, Job abhorred himself before the LORD and repented! Job 42:6. So what about us? When someone compliments our talents do we puff out our chest taking all the glory? Or do we turn to our Heavenly Father, the Giver of all good gifts, and bless, praise, thank, and glorify His Holy Name returning all the praises to Him? These are hard questions. Yet in reality, the glory belongs to our Father for everything! Who are we to attempt to steal it? Even a small portion that comes our way, must be heaved back up to Him! He alone is worthy to receive glory and honor and praise. Jude 25, Rev 4:11, Rev 5:12-13, Rev 7:12 Worthy is the Lamb of God! Be blessed, Ms. Lena
