I think the movement of the Jesus freaks got started on the west coast. The gospel went out to the hippie generation and I am sure some of them were saved. The reason they were called Jesus freaks, is because they believed Jesus died for sinners, and they knew they were sinners. They believed on Jesus apart from any works. Salvation by grace. Acts 16:31. They were certainly not main line church believers. They were still on drugs and all the other sins we do, but believed Jesus died to pay our sin debt in full. John 3:18. So, how many were believers? Only God knows. John 6:47. God cannot lie. Romans 4:5-8. Romans 3:26-28. None of us have any thing to boast in. Jesus paid it all and we paid 0.
