It seems a contradiction that a God who is love can also hate. We are created with the capacity to both love and hate; it is part of our being created in the image of God. The fact that we are all ...

God loves therefore He must hate. Since God loves righteousness, He must hate sin. Since He loves life, He must hate killing and abortion. He loves faithfulness so He has to hate infidelity and adultery....
Love is just one attribute of God. Much confusion exists today concerning this concept of a god who is all love and nothing else. We get into big trouble if we try to elevate one attribute of God over the others. God is holy, wrathful, loving, just, caring, merciful, compassionate, etc. He doesn't "wear" different attributes at times, He is all these things all the time.
I will contribute my 'simple minded' answer to a question that really does have a simple answer I think. For there to be Hate, the opposing opposite has to BE. For there to be Love, the opposing opposite has to BE. For there to be Good, the opposing opposite has to Be. For there to be Evil, the opposing opposite has to Be. For there to be Righteousness, there has to be Sinful Disobedience. For there to be Salvation, there has be Un-forgiven. For there to be Alive, there has to be Death. For there to be Infinite time, there has to be Finite time. For anyone to have Forgiveness, there has to be a Savior! For anyone to believe in God, one must also have everlasting Faith! Point being is this: "Believe on the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in Him for your salvation and you will spend eternity in Heaven with The Lord! Amen, ~~Andy~~
God hates everything evil according to His Word. If you want to know what is evil, read the Bible. If you want to know what God loves, read the Bible. Proverbs 8:13 says "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate." Isaiah 61:8 says “For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant." What is really astonishing is that God loves us; men, women, boys and girls. The entire Bible is a "Love Letter" written to us about His eternal love for us. God loves us so much that He can't stop thinking about us. Read Psalm 139:17-18 "How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You."
""God" is Love." He has set His universe in place (everything was set up perfectly). If one violates the rule in which to live in that universe, things happen. That is, consequences occur that are inherent in the action. Sin, and things occur which are bound to happen through a sinful action. Do righteousness and the same thing occurs, as regarding those things that occur to righteous people and their actions. He does not change. He remains exactly where He is at. Those who choose to go further away edge closer and closer to less and less love. There is no vacuum in this regard. Moving away from "love" predicates moving toward "hate." It is the individual's choice.
