This is very encouraging, but Christians must stay away from anyone practicing these "rituals" and witchcraft. They can still minister to them, but not be alone with that person or group of people for their personal safety.

Safety is not always the highest concern, though. I know a missionary who ministers in Africa. Shortly after meeting a new group of villagers once she fell terribly ill, and discovered it was because they had put a curse on her. She got better through prayer and the ministering of other Christians, but she continued to minister to that group of women even when it was not safe. Years later, most of that group of women have rejected voodoo and become Christians! They even staged a 'play' for her to watch wherein they re-enacted the initial curse they put on her and continued on to their conversion and the new life the village women have in Christ and that impact it has had on their families and even the local economy. That she was willing to risk her life to teach them about Jesus is a major factor in why they were willing to listen to her.
