Do you thik he's thinking about "cleansing the temple," the market that goes on in there? Is he thinking about God? Is he thinking about how the temple will soon be destroyed?
Mark 11:11
NLT - 11 So Jesus came to Jerusalem and went into the Temple. After looking around carefully at everything, he left because it was late in the afternoon. Then he returned to Bethany with the twelve disciples.

Jesus said, in John 5:19 "but what he sees the Father do, for what things so ever he does, these also does the Son likewise." One of the sub questions above was "was Jesus thinking about God?" I'll get to that, Jesus was led of the Holy Spirit in Matt 4 we see that. I 'm thinkin He came into the temple gathered all knowledge from the natural stand point and then went somewhere and prayed. Asked His father what he would do. Just like in John 5:20. When JESUS got downloaded of what to do in prayer and leadership of the Holy Spirit, he went and corrected the error in the temple. Just like when the woman caught in adultery and they threw her down at Jesus feet. What did Jesus do? He got quiet, stooped down, I believe buying time to ask the father of what to do and say. James 1:19 says slow to wrath. Most folks fly off the handle. Jesus acted to the situation not reacted. Not A knee jerk response. He handled it with wisdom. So, yes Jesus was thinking about what God would do in that situation and gathered some knowledge. then prayed about it, then acted. Hope this helps ?
Jesus visited the Temple, noted that they had turned it into a den of thieves, and came back the next day to clean house. He explains what He was thinking about in scripture: JESUS CLEANSES THE TEMPLE 15 Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves; 16 and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple. 17 And He began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, 'MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS'? But you have made it a ROBBERS' DEN."
Matthew 21:12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, It is written, M y house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a ' den of thieves
