A refuge is defined as: 'a place of shelter, protection, or safety, anything to which one has recourse for aid, relief, or escape.' In Psalm 46:1 we read, 'God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.' God is the one we can, and should, always turn to first when we are in any kind of trouble because He is the only one who knows every detail of the situation and the only one with the complete and perfect answer to the problem.
