I was in this relationship, we were torn between doing what boyfriend and girlfriend do. We were being pressed by the desire to be what everyone else is. She was saved, I had confessed of not being so well connected in salvation.
In this tussle between body and soul, she asked me what is the place of God in our relationship. It was difficult given I'm not saved while she is, she's enlightened, she sees the other side of everything. One morning I heard this verse, and tried to relate this with us. I may be trying to hold onto her and dragging her out of salvation. She may be holding unto me and dragging herself out of salvation. This verse was awakening to me, we've got to lose each other. We've got to keep the faith and adhere to the word. She has to keep her heart safe, as I pursue to know God. It's painful but God wants purity. We have to seek to keep every law.
