Basically it just becomes a feel good congregation but lacking in power to demonstrate God's goodness. Read the first two chapters of the book of revelation and see what Jesus had to say to the seven churches.

Revelation Chapter 2-3 describes varying degrees of declension of the church. Chapter 3:14-18 describes the apostate condition of the Laodicean church. It has become so nauseating, so sickening to The Lord that he states in v. 16 "I will spue thee out of my mouth".
i.e. I'm done with you! (my paraphrase).

However in v. 20 our gracious Lord states "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
I believe the above verse is addressing individuals, not church groups. The verse reads:"If any man". It doesn't state any church.

It will turn to Sunday worship, and do Christmas and Easter, and ignore
God's laws.
