Wow, some really great debate and answers here. I have struggled and sought His guidance on this for years. Here is my conclusion- The Messiah has provided our ultimate rest in Him no question. We cannot earn our salvation thru any means. But, we are to walk as He walked and He is our ultimate example. He kept Sabbath, the correct way! Thru love and helping others, He is our example in all ways. Also, we are joined with Israel, grafted in! I have personally found great peace in setting aside Sabbath for a day dedicated to Him.

I am minded that, the 4th Commandment (''Remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy...')is the only Commandment that starts with: 'Remember'...so if God/Jesus Christ intended to do away with it, He would not have 'pointedly' told us to remember it.
I am further minded of God's words in:Deuteronomy 7 v 9 '...and keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.'
Also, The Ten Commandments were/are kept in 'The Arc of the Covenant' which is being hidden supernaturally until 'the second coming'. If obeying the Ten Commandments is no longer required, why were they/are they being kept in 'the Holiest' of God's objects?
And, 'There REMAINS then a Sabbath rest for the people of God...' To remain means to 'still be' to 'stay here' so could not have been done away with along with any any other of the Ten Commandments.
God says: 'If you break even one of My commandments, you break them all'...(paraphrased) so, I find it hard to believe they were scrapped or became insignificant at the cross.
God also says, 'If you love Me, keep my Commandments.'

We are not Israel and we are not Jacob's seed. We are Abraham's seed who lived 400 years before the law was given. Where there is no law sin can not be imputed.
Romans 4:6-8 When we believe on Jesus as the only way of salvation by grace, He imputes his righteousness to us, and will no longer impute sin to our account.
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith, apart from the deeds of the law. Keeping the law can not save us, only what Jesus did for us on the cross can save us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace ye are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the GIFT of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Galatians 2:21 I do not make void the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law then Christ is dead in vain.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is made of no effect unto you, whosoever you are justified by the law, you have fallen from grace.
Since we did nothing for our salvation and it is a free gift from God, we have nothing to boast in. Jesus paid our sin debt in full. If we were still under the law we would have something to boast in. We are no longer under the law but under grace.
Romans 11:6 It is all grace, not works, if it was by works, it would no longer be grace, and if by grace, it is no more works.
You can not mix law works with grace. If you add one work then it is no more grace. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, (everybody) that He gave His only begotten Son, (Jesus) that WHOSOEVER, (any body) believeth in HIm
