I once went on a youth mission trip sponsored by our congregation to Puerto Rico as an adult supervisor, and each evening of the week we were there, we had devotional services led by an evangelical youth mission team called Group Work Camps. One evening they broke us into groups of 6 and we took turns washing each other's feet. It was one of the most moving experiences ever, and it transformed the lives of a lot of adults and youth that evening. Jesus's Gospel came alive and the Holy Spirit was deeply felt by all. If you ever have the opportunity to participate in one of these services, please do not miss it. Each of you will experience the Holy Spirit of Christ in a deep and meaningful way. It was very humbling to wash another's feet but almost overwhelming to have your feet washed, which of course is somewhat similar to the love and redemption Christ did for each of us on the Cross.
