What is the point of living if a person like me is predestined to hell?

If someone learns about predestination and not being able to call for God for salvation, then what is that person suppose to do? Live life?

...Someone has filled your head with misinterpreted Calvinist nonsense. Calvinist views do not exclude souls from salvation in some arbitrary, unloving fashion. That is not at all the character of the Godhead that Jesus taught.

First, understand that every single human being ever born has the free choice to say what I am going to say right now: "I, Vin Smith, accept you, Jesus of Nazareth, Son of God, Savior who died on Calvary's Cross, as my Lord, my best friend, my co-pilot through life... My constant companion."

Now, since God knows the end from the beginning--and not a thing that defined any who walked the desert lands of the Bible and came into contact with Jesus, was hidden from his knowledge; Jesus knew what they did, how they lived, what was in their hearts. As an example, He loved the good points in the character of the rich young ruler, such as the young man's attention to the commandments. However, Jesus knew that young man would reject Him. But Jesus loved him anyway--he loves us while we are still dead in sin--before we make that life-giving choice of accepting Him as personal Savior. That is a far cry from predestination; it is omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence. It is the unlimited love and power of our Creator.

My friend... Take it to the Lord in Prayer... Take it to Him now. In a nanosecond, your name will be written in the Book of Life.

Dear Harrision,

The very fact that you posted and are concerned about your eternal destiny tells me that God's Holy Spirit is working. The first thing he does is convict, convince us of our unregenerate condition and need for a savior.

He gives us a vivid understanding of our present eternal destiny then reveals the lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world, the precious Son of God who died in our stead.

Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
l
Romans 10:13 states "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Are you a whosoever? Will you cry out to God for salvation?

On the authority of God's Word, if you know you are lost, destined to spend eternity separated from God and now realize Christ has paid your sin debt, a debt you cannot possibly pay, call out to him now he will save you!

No one is predestined to hell. God wants all to be saved. You have free will to choose. Therefore choose Christ for your salvation.

Because of Jesus' death all of mankind since then is predestined to go to heaven but if they choose not to then it is on them. Its like you know the way to school but if you go to the park then you are going to pay at the end of the day <:(God loves us so much He has hooked us up. I'm not Calvinist but this will start to sound like it. Firstly we are saved by grace (a divine influence upon the heart and its reflection to the life) through faith (God has given every man a measure of faith) 1 Tim 1:14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. NIV So what has happened is that God influences your heart then He gives you the faith to believe that you need a savior. All you have to do is either receive it or not.

God knows there is nothing we can do to be good enough to get into heaven so He set it up so all we have to do is receive His free gift. That's it.

If you have received Jesus as savior then you're in. There is nothing more you need to do to get into heaven, but once your in you will need to start participating in kingdom service. Do not let anyone talk you into thinking you have to do good things to keep your salvation or to maintain it. You are saved, that's the problem Paul had with the Galatians, (Galatians 3) they were bewitched by some group of legalistic, works minded people.

Keep heart its all good and you'll be fine. Read your bible <:)

Harrison, you do not indicate what type of person you are, but regardless, you are created in the image of God. Your question indicates you know something of God from the scripture, and you know something about predestination. We do not know what God has planned for us in our life, even for tomorrow, but he has a plan for each. Living for Him gives us hope and eliminates despair. I was not a believer for 38 years; I rejected God. Then he opened my eyes to see Him and proclaim Christ. He gave me joy, comfort, and the ability to live each day, one day at a time. I encourage you to read the Book of John, and meditate on who is Christ. May God bless you.

I struggled with this possibility, even though I am a believer. Assurance that we are not wasting our energy comes when we realize that we can do nothing in and of ourselves in order to be justified before a holy God. It is only through Jesus Christ, faith in his atoning sacrificial death on the cross that anyone can be justified (or saved). We are saved by works, but not our works, the works of Jesus and what he has done on our behalf. This mystery I will not fully understand in this life, but am thankful for it. This is where my hope lies-in Christ alone...

Dear Seeker.....for that is what you are. All of the above answers are correct and simple to understand. We have choices in life, on just about everything. Take ice cream.....chocolate or vanilla.....which do you choose? Salvation is just that simple, even if you never opened a bible or attended a church service. If you want to go to heaven and be saved......simply ask God and all heaven will rejoice as you declare that Jesus Christ died for you and you accept HIM as your Savior and Lord. The following strength you will need comes from reading The Word of God and praising your Father only in Jesus's Name. You need to find a solid bible teaching/preaching church, for your brothers and sisters are your new earthly family and will stand with you in all things. Yes, it is that simple for your Father loves you right where you are. Come on home.
