It really saddens me when people say things like, "Oh I think we give the devil too much credit!" They then go on to say that the reason that they sinned or made a bad choice was entirely their own fault and that there was no influence from the evil one. I question an opinion like that in this way - is there ever a time in our lives when we are not under the influence of either God or the evil one? Is there ever a time that we are totally autonomous and capable of making a decision that is not influenced by good intentions or evil intentions? Is there ever a time when we live in the grey area that is neither black nor white?
No. No there isn't is there? So therefore, by simple deduction, every mistake we make, every bad choice we make, has it's influence somewhere from the evil one. Compare family blood lines from evil people as to family blood lines from good people and that will show you exactly what we experience on a daily basis.
Our choice lies in making decisions that are influenced by God and by Him alone... God of course being the trilogy - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That is the ONLY way to live life - it has taken me over 60 years to learn that.
Please don't let it take YOU as long...
Shalom!
