Does our first fruits mean any money received such as inheritance?

Or is it only for income that I worked for?

Proverbs 3:9

ESV - 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce.

. Tithing is for the ministry of the church. It is also to bless you as well. Look at your life does what the Lord promise about faithfully tithing actually happen your life? It says He will POUR out so much blessing there will not be room enough for you to store it. That means you will be so prosperous that you will be able to take care care of yourself give other than just tithing and also having some left over. This does not mean you will have a ton of money although money is involved. If you don't see that in your life re think what you are doing. Because He always makes good on His promises.

The Origin of the first fruit - Genesis 4:3-4
It came before the law. It was the first to be introduced before the tithe.
The firstfruit is for all generation.

God gave His firstfruit
John 3:16
John 1:34

Quality of the first fruit; it is holy!
Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

In the Old Testament, God spoke about the animals and the harvest because of what His where doing then, if you study the subject very well you will also realize that it is not every animal that could be given to God, that there are those that needed to be redeemed, like your first child, since you couldn't offer him to God you had to redeem. Why was Cain's offering not acceptable to God? Notice that what they were giving was the first fruit offering. Read Exodus 13:1-6, 11-15 KJV

What happened to Egypt when they refused to give God His first born?

Romans 15:16

Best Quality:
Genesis 4:4
Numbers 13:
Numbers 18:13
Deuteronomy 15:15-22

It is given in whole not in part
Deuteronomy 26:2

Don't postpone, don't delay, give it

Exodus 22:29

Uchenna, so long as your giving is willing and from the heart, how could your friends say that it is wrong? If you consider that to be your firstfruits, surely God will accept your willing offering, and it is not up to anyone else to determine whether or not your offering is acceptable to God.

A friend was asked should I tithe gross or net income, in other words before or after tax income. His answer was "How do you want to be blessed, gross or net?" I like that.

But this is not prosperity preaching, God loves a cheerful giver, not one that counts every penny given to make sure he is giving enough, but not more, or less!

Tithing is personal and should be prayed about.

Many churches fleece the flock to pay for outlandish stuff like $60 million jets, or preachers say God will smite church members if they don't raise X amount of dollars or live in houses that cost $10 million or more.

I like the part of God letting us tithe our time and money by helping other people. It is not all about money. Our time is valuable too, and helping someone else can be such a blessing, both for them and us.

Other Christian organizations also spend God's money very well. Samaritans Purse does some incredible things and the Bible League sends Bibles to countries where 10 or more people share only one.

We do not have to give all our tithes to these rich churches.

But if you worship in a small church where your money tithe is sorely needed and not wasted on something frivolous, don't take that money and spend it on other projects.

It is interesting to see the words of the LORD Himself re: the tithe in Deuteronomy 14:24-29 where we read that both goods and money were involved, and that the tithe of goods could be exchanged for money in the case of a long journey being too hard. Never in Scripture do we see tithing on money, when it indeed existed and was used in Bible times. Even when tithing is mentioned in the New Testament, it is re: physical goods such as mint. The modern idea of tithing on money places a cap on how much a person can give to God and be "righteous." In the New Testament and for now, it is to be generous and as God has blessed. This is a very important topic that affects pretty much every church-going believer.
