Should a Christian join the church of his choice or join to the church of God's choice?

Is there a Church of God's choice for His children?
Is the Church the Lord is building practical or just figurative?
Is it God's will that His children be divided by denominations?
Is it God's will that His children unite with unsaved and pool their resources to build a denomination that divides them from other of God's children?

Ephesians 4:1 - 6

NKJV - 1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called. 2 With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.

The way to answer this question is to state emphatically, "Do not join a church where the denomination has added to, or subtracted from the Word of God!

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book" (Revelation 22:18-19) ESV

If a denomination has created an additional "book" that is held in the same reverence as the Bible, flee from it! As an example, the Book of Mormon. If a denomination has created its own version of a Bible, such as The New World Translation of the Bible (Jehovah's Witnesses), or the Clear Word Bible (Seventh-day Adventists)--run as fast as you can from it. If a denomination holds a spiritual guru as the ultimate arbitrator of spiritual light (Scientology), have nothing to do with it.

So, what is God's choice? God's choice is simple: Do not tinker with scripture: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17) NIV

Understanding all of this, the choice is simple. Search until you find a Bible believing, God-reverencing church that welcomes you with open arms to fellowship. All searches should be undertaken after deep prayer. Do these things and God will lead you to the right place.

Divided Christianity mirrors divided mankind. It is a human fact. It will continue until that great day that Jesus returns for all eyes to see.

"For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." (Matthew 24:27) ESV.
