First of all, yes, there are many baptisms that we speak about as Christians. Secondly, There is a thing called the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but that is not what it is called in the Scriptures. In the Scriptures, when the Church talks about baptism, it is speaking about going down into water and dipping under the water until you are completely covered. If you believe in the Gospel of Christ, then you will obey the Gospel and get baptized. Otherwise, what good is your belief. It is dead.
I believe that faith by grace through Jesus Christ because Jesus paid off our sins on cross by his pure blood, not by works faith. We should thank Jesus Christ daily because what Jesus Christ did wonderful everything for us due of his eternal love. Please keep praying for all Disabilities, normal people turn to Jesus Christ and believe in Jesus Christ through faith by grace in the name of Jesus Christ amen!
Krista,
Many people ask 'If we don't have to get baptized, then why did Jesus get baptized?' They answer themselves without even knowing it. We don't have to obey the law to get saved. Jesus did it for us. We don't have to die a cruel death to get saved. Jesus did it for us. We don't have to take holy communion. He communed with the Father on our behalf. And yes, He was baptized and the Holy Spirit came to Him. The Holy Spirit doesn't come to us if we are baptized. He comes to us when we place our trust in the risen Christ, die to ourselves, and believe the gospel.
Jesus sends Him (Jn 16:8).
Nowhere in the bible is there a promise that begins 'After you are baptized.. ' Neither is it stated anywhere 'You must be baptized.' It is stated 'You must be born again.'
Preaching 'You must be baptized or your faith is void' is preaching in error. It doesn't void your relationship, it just doesn't help the cause of the gospel.
