When is it acceptable to stop having sex with your spouse?
Sexual contact may become less desirable after menopause, though intimacy is still in abundance.

When you have Biblical grounds for divorce (Matthew 5:27-28) I believe you have good reason to stop sexual activities with the adulterous spouse until they have sought forgiveness and made restitution to restoring the relationship. If they do not do the necessary work, then you may divorce. Also if a couple simply want to stop sexual relationships, then the guide would be 1 Corinthians 7:5. Note that Paul says 'so that satan may not tempt you". If satan is no longer tempting either spouse, and both spouse mutual agree to stop, then it is okay to do so. There are many valid reasons - health, age, mental stability - for this. But I do think it needs to a mutual agreement. Also, in Genesis 2:24 the reason for a man to leave parents is to diminish loyalty and instead place your full loyalty and respect to your wife: to cleave to your wife means emotionally and spiritually bond with only your wife, and to the two shall become one is referencing the sexual act. Notice the order they are listed in. Sex is not primarily the reason to marry - it is third on the list.
