The Bible is absolutely clear that, ultimately, there are only two options for where you go when you die: heaven or hell. The Bible also makes it abundantly clear that you can determine where you g...

When we die our flesh body returns to dust the spirit returns to the Father that gave it (Ecc 12:7-8, 1 Cor 5:6-7). To be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord. The good will be on the side of the gulf with Abraham, the bad with the rich man as described in Luke chapter 16. We serve a God of the living not the dead. We are not judged until the great white throne judgment, which is after the thousand year reign of the Lord (Rev 20)!
This is what the Bible teaches about where we go and what we do after death: After death a person returns to dust (Psalms 104:29), knows nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5), possesses no mental powers (Psalms 146:4), has nothing to do with anything on earth (Ecclesiastes 9:6), does not live (2 Kings 20:1), waits in the grave (Acts 2:29, 34) (Job 17:13), and continues not (Job 14:1-2). The dead are resting in their graves awaiting the Lord's return (John 5:28-29) (1 Thessalonians 4:15–17).
The Apostle Paul tells us, "Absent from the body and being with the Lord." Our bible tells us in the the 11th Chapter of John that our Savior Christ Jesus is the resurrection. Now, grace is a gift from God the Father and Christ Jesus to us, his children. And those who accept Christ Jesus during the period of grace will be raised from the dead. In Chapter 6 of the book of John Christ Jesus tells us FOUR TIMES that he will raise us up on the last day. He tells us four times in order to fully understand that God Almighty has given him the power to raise the dead, just as he raised Lazarus! The period of grace will eventually end; however, those human beings who, again, accepted Christ Jesus during the period of grace will be, in the wink of an eye, be with our Lord Christ Jesus. And we will return with him when he returns to the new earth, or the New Jerusalem. Yes, just like Moses and Elijah were with our Lord Christ Jesus at the mount of transfiguration, and they died ages ago, we, too will be with the Lord in those rooms, mansions, that Christ Jesus told the apostles about, and that he was leaving to prepare them for them. And, of course, us who accepted him during the period of GRACE when we die on earth. If you know Christ Jesus, read the Proverbs and they will assist you in making good decisions that honor God the Father, Christ Jesus, and mankind. Reading is easy, but internalizing the Proverbs is a challenge; but with the Holy Spirit of God, prayer, and discipline you will succeed.
