Remember this is a parable given by Jesus knowing that the Pharisees would understand. When Jesus referred to Abraham's bosom, the Pharisees knew exactly what Jesus talking about, which is the place where those who died in Christ before the resurrection. They received, comfort, rest and joy until Christ came and received them into Judgement. Remember Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today you shall be with in Paradise." Now that Christ has risen and is seated at the Great Throne in heaven, we who are in Christ will be absent in the body and present with the LORD. No more Abraham's bosom, because HE has risen once and for all only to come again to make it final.
