Essentially, when we care more about HIM than ourselves, we focus on what pleases HIM more than ourselves. We no longer ask what is wrong with it; we begin to ask what is right about it.

Good point! However God gave us this life to enjoy. Contrary to some options, some things are neutral in and of themselves. Clothing, food, music, art, to name just a few.
I wholeheartedly agree with you in your view that our attitude should be one of pleasing God. The problem is the way we use things and from what motivation they are used. If the motivation is selfishness, it is always a sin, it doesn't matter what it is.

"thigh"(Rev 18:16) is suspected as a wrong translation from Hebrew by many scholars. It should be "banner" as the Hebrew words for thigh and banner are very very similar-it's the difference of a round corner or a sharp corner on the last letter. It makes much more sense if " King of Kings and Lord of lords" is written on his banner rather than thigh, don't you think? If this is the basis for Christian tattoo, don't rely on it!

God forbids tattoos. However should one have them before salvation and while in ignorance, God will overlook it. Levitical laws forbid them.

We have been bought with a price and are not our own. We are temples of God and we carry His presence. Hence we need to be pure, fit for the Master's use.
