Wow. What an interesting time reading all these comments and everyone defending their faith. I am not a scholar or bible teacher by far. I just love Jesus and can't get enough of His grace. I grew up Catholic and just as any Catholic (the average Cathoilc is not really encouraged to read the Word for themselves. Their teachers interpretation is set by their doctrinal believes of the church so, it's also tainted (i.e. perpetual virginity of Mary, transubtabciation, penance and indulgences, praying to saints, rosary praying, praying for the dead, etc).
In October 1992, I experience what Jesus referred as being 'born again' and my life as I knew I was transformed by the Word and the Holy Spirit. All can say is that is takes to be set free by the 'incorruptible seed' (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23) to even begin to SEE the kingdom of God for what it truly is, vs what doctrines of men teach; the truth vs almost the truth. "...Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26For consider your calling, brethren, that THERE WERE NOT many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble..." -1 Cor 1:25...It's just that simple. Now I am just a simple sheep who loves her shepherd. Be blessed!
