Who or what does the Lion of Judah prevail over/overcome in this passage?

My bible footnote connects the above passage with Rev. 17:14, the Lamb overcoming the kings who receive power for one hour with the beast, and with Rev 3:21, Christ Jesus saying that He also overcame in the message to the church.

Revelation 5:5

KJV - 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Who or what does the Lion of Judah prevail over/overcome in this passage? Revelation 5:5

Revelation 5:1-5

1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

The first thing we see is that no man was found worthy to open the seven sealed book (Revelation 5:3). So, why was Jesus able to open the book? Because God committed all judgement to the Son (John 5:22). Why? Because Jesus was without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). Compare this with Isaiah 53:10.
With all this in view, I believe Revelation 5:5 is a reference to Jesus prevailing over death by His death, burial and ressurection. He will swallow up death in victory (Isaiah 25:8). Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55)
I pray this helps.
