I remember a day when I was abandoned, I was just five discarded like trash no one seemed to want me. After I was found i was placed in children services. From there I was placed in a foster home. Were I was molested and abused I remember hearing a story about Jesus from some people and when I heard it I thought if only He would help me. So I prayed and called out for help I cried myself to sleep calling on this Jesus please bring my mommy back please I will be good I pleaded. I don't know how many times and then the dreams started a voice spoke to me in my dreams and said I will give you your mommy back and I will be a father to you and you will be my son. He showed me my mother returning, walking up the walk of this foster home and knocking on the door and saying I'm here for my children. A year or so later just like the dreams it happened just like the dream. From hopeless to hope at the name of Jesus. He gave me my mommy back. Through my life. He kept me even though I was not raised in a Christian family. 63 times he Delivered me. From car crashes, over doses, assaults, drowning, fires, before I committed my life to Him. At 19 from a maximum security cell I called on him again I said, I'm so sorry please forgive me. I know I deserve this (I was facing a trial and no hope of any kind of life) please forgive me I take what ever happens to me only please forgive me for not doing what was right. He said "you are mine" I did not understand what that meant I had no hope I was a terrible person. But I said to Him if you only forgive me I will do what is right, some how. He set me free some how they dropped he charges after 43 days, the judge said "you better thank God because He set you free today". He gave me a wife through prayer, I saw her before I met her in a dream. He gave me 4 sons, and 7 grandchildren he showed them to me through prayer sometimes in dreams first to give me hope is what I think.I was dirt poor and homeless I prayed and He caused me to learn a trade. I lost my job I prayed and He gave me a business and a home. I made bad choices and decisions I lost my home, I prayed He made away and gave me a better one. I remember a day when I prayed for death when my body was racked with sickness and my life's blood passed from me by the cups full. I had turned my back on God out of anger and stubbornness I refused to pray to talk to the only friend who stuck by me my whole life. One night I broke I prayed for death my choices separated me from Him the true love of my life it was my fault I was broken beyond repair. Then he came to me again and said "you are mine" I refused to believe it How? How could He love me? He sent messengers to me and they kept saying the same thing "I love you and you are mine" I surrendered I collapsed I refused to eat or sleep I just wept for three days I begged His forgiveness and on that third day He healed me the bleeding stopped my strength returned. This may sound like a crazy mans rant but call on Him call on Him with all your heart seek Him like treasure and like gold and He will find you. He will heal you! He will set you free he will break the chains that bind you and give you the desires of your heart, even if you don't know what they are. I have posted my number before if you want to talk or pray just follow my posts and get my number. Maranatha
You should not commit suicide because there is hope. It may take a lot of hard work to get past feelings of hopelessness, despair, and sadness, but it is possible through Jesus Christ.
We'll to put it simply, suicide is murder of ones self. Murder is breaking the 10 commandments. After you die you can't ask for forgiveness. Suicide takes you to Hell. Hell is a horrible place and Yahuwah made it clear that we are to follow the narrow path. That path is very narrow. Plus Yahusha died on the stake/cross so that they wouldn't have to burn. All they had to do was follow the whole bible with showing the fruits of the Spirit, and have on the full armor of Yahuwah. Do as He says and not as we want. Basically people who commit suicide to get rid of the suffering will only suffer for eternity afterwards. It's pointless to give up and we need to be there to help them, because as believers we are called to spread the Good News to all the nations!
Honestly, no scripture comes to my mind. However, my experience is that Jesus really does love me and wants me to live each day he has planned for me. When I wanted to kill myself, there was always something in the back of my mind telling me there will be a better day. Many years later, I've had many better days and can look back and see how Jesus carried me through very hard times.
Please read they book of Job. He suffered through all of satan's evils and God blessed him greatly.
Simply put, you should not commit suicide because it is against the will of God. God knows all things, so He knows what you are going through at this very moment. It is not his desire that we suffer, we suffer because of the wrong choices that all of us have made starting with Adam and Eve. In scripture, He asks that we lean on Him and not on our own understanding. God also knows as well as millions of other Christians who can testify, and that is; suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Stay safe through collective prayers, and allow God the time to pull you through whatever you are in.
Dear friend, greetings; It is with great emotion and pain I have read your question. We all have gone or passed through hard times and situations but I would like to tell you this: If you have ever made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as your own Lord and Saviour, it is not late you can do it now. For He created you to His own image and to His own resemblance He did create you. You are a reel vessel for God and worth living. Jesus says this right now to you and only you: Matthew 11:25-30 King James Version (KJV) 25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. 1 Corinthians 10:13 King James Version (KJV) 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 3:16-19 King James Version (KJV) 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. And also if you are a Christian know this: Revelation 3:15-22 King James Version (KJV) 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Revelation 22:10-15 King James Version (KJV) 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Let the Lord Jesus come to your help and stay blessed.
I pray not that Thou shouldst take them out of the world. —John 17:15 It is a sweet and blessed event which will occur to all believers in God's own time—the going home to be with Jesus. In a few more years the Lord's soldiers, who are now fighting "the good fight of faith" will have done with conflict, and have entered into the joy of their Lord. But although Christ prays that His people may eventually be with Him where He is, He does not ask that they may be taken at once away from this world to heaven. He wishes them to stay here. Yet how frequently does the wearied pilgrim put up the prayer, "O that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away and be at rest"; but Christ does not pray like that, He leaves us in His Father's hands, until, like shocks of corn fully ripe, we shall each be gathered into our Master's garner. Jesus does not plead for our instant removal by death, for to abide in the flesh is needful for others if not profitable for ourselves. He asks that we may be kept from evil, but He never asks for us to be admitted to the inheritance in glory till we are of full age. Christians often want to die when they have any trouble. Ask them why, and they tell you, "Because we would be with the Lord." We fear it is not so much because they are longing to be with the Lord, as because they desire to get rid of their troubles; else they would feel the same wish to die at other times when not under the pressure of trial. They want to go home, not so much for the Saviour's company, as to be at rest. Now it is quite right to desire to depart if we can do it in the same spirit that Paul did, because to be with Christ is far better, but the wish to escape from trouble is a selfish one. Rather let your care and wish be to glorify God by your life here as long as He pleases, even though it be in the midst of toil, and conflict, and suffering, and leave Him to say when "it is enough."
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil,to give you a FUTURE and a HOPE." Jesus loves you and has great plans for your life. You have the blessing and favor of God over you, don't succumb to earthly temptations and evils, seek God and turn your troubles to Him. He already has them handled. My prayers go out to you.
Thank you to the brave people who are sharing their true stories & struggles about suicide. To you & anyone else who is wishing life was over, I'm so sorry. I wish I could make things better for you. I don't have all the answers, but I have a bit of insight to share. First, I live in pain daily after neck & back injuries. Life is miserable way too often. I even experienced suicide ideology over the past couple years which means that my mind (as a reaction to the pain & medication) would think of committing suicide even when I knew I wouldn't. It was really creepy. Fortunately I have a solid faith in Jesus & I cling to Romans 8:28 (All things work for the good of those who love Him). That verse, combined w/ knowing how suicide impacts other people, is enough to make me never want to commit suicide. I know the repercussions of suicide all too well because I have 5 friends who lost children to suicide, plus 2 relatives who committed suicide & another friend whose mom committed suicide. All have left a trail of emotional devastation. Please ask yourself if you really want to harm your friends & family that way. For me, the realization that committing suicide would be incredibly selfish makes me never want to do so. In closing, if thoughts of suicide pop into your head, I suggest that you immediately do a few things; (1) Stand up or kneel and pray out loud that God make His desires yours. (2) DOT - try this technique to gain control of your thoughts. DOT (Descriptive Observation Talk) is a way to activate the logical side of your mind which helps deactivate the emotional side of your mind. It's simple & can be done anywhere. All you do it start describing things...anything...in minute detail. Speak out loud when possible. For EX: if you are looking at a window, you might say the window is rectangular, it has white, 1-inch plastic shades, it is about 4-ft wide & 2-ft high. The edge of the window is framed with a 1-in white piece of wood. The glass in the window is clean in only one small section, but dirty & smudged throughout the rest. There are 2 latches, etc. Can you see how your mind stops being emotional while you focus on features? This is a powerful technique because suicide is impacting the emotional side of your brain. (3) Help Others: Always have a list of things you can do to help others. This may mean simply that you begin praying for other people: friends, family, govt officials, refugees, pastors, the military, etc. Besides praying, you can doing things like calling or sending cards to people. I always keep a list of names & phone numbers of people I will contact w/ an encouraging word. I even keep a box of cards on hand plus cardstock & photos to create personalized cards for them. Remember, any time we turn our thoughts to helping others, we will be blessed with the peace of God because He wants us to have a servant heart. I hope that helps. Know that God made you because He wanted to...& you have a purpose in this life even if you don't recognize it. Even when you tend to be sad or depressed, maybe God is allowing you to be that way so others can learn to be empathetic and caring. God didn't make any mistakes. Once you get past your upset, you can go on to help others. You are valuable!
Everyone is responsible for his life before God who has given it to him. It is God who remains the sovereign Master of life. We are obliged to accept life gratefully and preserve it for his honor and the salvation of our souls. We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted to us. It is not ours to dispose of. Suicide contradicts the natural inclination of the human being to preserve and perpetuate his life. It is gravely contrary to the just love of self. It likewise offends love of neighbor because it unjustly breaks the ties of solidarity with family, nation, and other human societies to which we continue to have obligations. Suicide is contrary to love for the living God. If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law. Grave psychological disturbances, anguish, or grave fear of hardship, suffering, or torture can diminish the responsibility of the one committing suicide. We should not despair of the eternal salvation of persons who have taken their own lives. By ways known to him alone, God can provide the opportunity for salutary repentance. The Church prays for persons who have taken their own lives. Catechism of the Catholic Church, pp 2280-2283
Suicide is murder of one's self and murderers will not inherit the kingdom of God according to scripture. How can one repent of murder and be saved if you are dead? God is not schizophrenic or double-minded. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So let's not make a mistake here and equate murder and killing as the same thing. Although if I had to kill someone, I would still ask God's forgiveness. In war we must kill or be killed, and hopefully we are on the side the greater good, but we are also defending our brothers in arms, so killing a human being may deny them an opportunity to be saved in their lifetime. I have heard of Christians committing suicide too, so we know or should realize that suicide is a spirit of depression, anxiety, remorse, fear and guilt. It is a cowardly act because it is a way to escape trials, hardship and possibly evil acts happening to one's self. Pain and suffering are part of everyone's life and some, unfortunately, beyond normal bonds. It is appointed unto to mankind to die and then the judgment. God knows the numbers of our days. Who are we to decide when we should die? Is not that also an act of rebellion against God's plan for our lives? Not to mention the pain, guilt and suffering that it may cause someone who loves us, no matter what kind of life that we may have lived. Can a saved person commit suicide and go to heaven? Only God knows the answer to that question. I would not risk my eternal life with our Lord for anyone or anything. This life is but a vapor of smoke compared to our eternal life to come. This much I know with assurance: Suicide is inspired by demonic activity. Those that jumped from the 9/11 towers knew they were going to die. They chose a quick death that was the only choice they had left. That's why only God can judge righteously since he knows all things. Let's leave it in God's hands as far as the judgment. Selah! Maranatha! Shalom!
Suicide is a serious matter. When a person commits this act they are saying that something happened in their lives so horrific that no one in heaven or earth can help them resolved or rectify the situation for them. In Matthew 27:5 Judas committed suicide because he betrayed the Lord Jesus and in Acts 1:25 it is stated that he (Judas) went to his place. His place means a place in hell designed specifically for him and those who commit this act. The parables that are written in the bible are written so that we can get a glimpse of certain scenarios that takes place in the afterlife we will one day all enter into. Case and point: in Luke 16 a poor beggared named Lazarus died and Angels escort him to Abrahams’ bosom to rest from his weary life. Immediately after a rich ruler died the same day and in hell he lifted up his eyes. It would be a sad thing to leave one helpless situation on earth to only go to a place of eternal damnation forever, no rest, just torment 364/365 24/7. Basically if a person commits this act they are leaving one disaster to go to another disastrous place… Judas was used as an analogy however he went to his place and I believe that everyone that commits this act goes to their place forever. We have all experienced some grave situations in life that appeared to be the worst thing that had or has ever happened to us. However with prayer and love ones around us we somehow make it through with the grace of God. I’ve come to learned that you might not have gotten the victory, you might have gotten stumped through the ordeal however being alive one more day gives you another opportunity to hit the ground running to correct the matter or quash it and find another thing to be involved in. All of our days are number and when we leave this earthen vessel we will be in heaven or hell FOREVER..
What does the Bible say about suicide? What does God say about sinning willfully? Please let the Word of God be your guide. Suicide is a ticket to hell. There is no sacrifice for suicide! Hebrews 10:23-31 KJV [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) [24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: [25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another : and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. [28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? [30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
