How can a person be safe when his life's work is burned up and he suffers loss?



      

1 Corinthians 3:15

ESV - 15 If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

Vs. 13, "but each person's handiwork will be shown for what it is. The Day which dawns in the fire will make it clear and the fire will test the quality of each person's work. The one whose work stands up to it will be given his wages;..."

This is speaking of reward that we receive for our work that we do for the Lord. Our work comes out of our faith. Our faith in Jesus Christ and our acceptance of the Gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, is our salvation. We will not lose our salvation, but our loss, depending on our work, will be of rewards. So we are saved, but may have loss.
