ESV - 25 And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove's dung for five shekels of silver.

The famine was so great that the people of Israel even ate donkeys--unclean animals. Furthermore, they ate even flesh of human beings during this time (2Ki. 6:24-29). Moses predicted this would come to pass if they went into sin (Lev. 26:29; Dt. 28:53-57).

At $2.50 per shekel, this would be $200 for a donkey's head.

A cab was a dry measure of about 2 quarts, so a fourth of a cab was about a pint which sold for 5 shekels of silver--$12.50 for a pint of dove's dung! Hope that clarifies.
