KJV - 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

I believe it refers to a crude or sinful sort of humour. God has a sense of humour and so should we, but jokes that offend the dignity of human persons are sinful. Of course with a bit of imagination we can all think of other sorts of jokes that are sinful.
