Just as the demons in the verse cited in the question knew who Jesus was, Satan (the master of those demons) knew also. 

When Satan said to Jesus during his temptation of Him, "If you are the Son of God..." (Matthew 4:3; Matthew 4:6), he was not expressing true ignorance or doubt concerning who Jesus was, but was using the words as part of a tempting challenge in an effort to incite Jesus to demonstrate His known power or identity in a way that would have been contrary to God's will.
