In my opinion, God expressed the intent indicated in Hosea 2:11 because Israel had perverted the occasions mentioned in the verse by either regarding them merely as times for mirth and celebration, rather than for sincere reflection and communion with God; associating them with the worship of entities other than God (such as heavenly bodies); or devising holidays or feasts of their own creation, rather than adhering to the specific dates and meanings or purposes of the observances that God Himself had indicated in the Law given to Moses.

God lets us see what the message is behind the passage. Hosea lets us see that everything that Israel was doing was very degrading to God, because they were falling away from him. Worship for God was not sincere; they were forgetting that the Lord had been their provider and were acting disrespectfully by worshipping Baal. In verse 8 she doesn’t realize it was God who gave her everything she has: the grain, the wine, the olive oil. He says, " I gave her silver and gold. But she gave all her gifts to Baal." This is the reason God said there would be a stop to their ceremonies. Now repentance is expected from not only them but us as well. May God help everyone of us to remain faithful to him.
