How do we know that the Bible is the Word of God, and not the Apocrypha, the Qur'an, the Book of Mormon, etc.?

While the above is correct in that it is what is in existence today that is not proof that it is the absolute truth. For instance why is the book of Jude and the gospels of Thomas and Mary (two people who physically met Jesus) not included in the books of the bible mentioned.I speak with a sincere heart and genuine desire to know the truth.

Such good discussions, they also should bring us to the main point. JESUS is The Word of God. His gospel, the main point. God has preserved enough of what anyone needs for salvation, that is the most important element of any ecclesiastical differences Protestants and Catholics may have. Thank you all, for such good insights.
