In this text the sword of Goliath was located in Nob (1 Sam 21:1). However, in 1 Samuel 17:54 it says David “put his [Goliath’s] armor in his tent.” How can both be true?
1 Samuel 21:1 - 9
ESV - 1 Then David came to Nob to Ahimelech the priest. And Ahimelech came to meet David trembling and said to him, "Why are you alone, and no one with you? 2 And David said to Ahimelech the priest, "The king has charged me with a matter and said to me, 'Let no one know anything of the matter about which I send you, and with which I have charged you.' To my knowledge, the biblical account does not specifically indicate how or when Goliath's sword was relocated from David's tent to the sanctuary at Nob (which was the center of Israel's worship at that time). Perhaps David himself directed its removal to Nob as an act of dedicating it to God in thanksgiving for God's help in defeating Goliath. (This might have also resulted from David possibly no longer dwelling in the tent in connection with military service, as possibly indicated by the return of Saul and David, as described in 1 Samuel 18:6-7.)
