The testimony of the twelve apostles was at stake. They were to visit homes who were reputable, worthy. They were delivering the truth of Jesus Christ.

When they went into a home they were to deliver a blessing. If the people were receptive, the home was worthy, because they welcomed God's words. Rejection of the apostles was like rejection of the blessing of God.

Matthew,10:34 - 42 describes all manner of acceptance of Christ. Christ must be ALL. He suffered for us. We must be willing to follow, come what may.
