My question is as a believer, are we aware of the groanings as we pray?
Romans 8:26
KJV - 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

If the reference is to an audible sound, I would say no (although we ourselves might groan as we pray). However, the main point is that the Holy Spirit (who lives in our hearts as Christians) supplements our requests in prayer with a spiritual language that CAN be heard and understood by God (since the Holy Spirit is Himself God), in order (as Paul said) that we may be enabled to pray "as we ought" (that is, for the things that God desires us to want or ask from Him).
