Matt 5:38-40
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also."

Rom 12:19
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

1 Thes 5:15
"See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men."

1 Thes 5:23
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

It is difficult, while being trapped in the flesh, to allow ourselves to be wronged without seeking what we would otherwise consider to be justice, but what our natural man desires (our "old Adam") usually does not align with what our "new creature" of the Spirit would have us do.
