Does God still perform miracles?

Genesis 1:1 - 31

NLT - 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Many people desire miracles from God. They want God to perform miracles to "prove" Himself to them. "If only God would perform a miracle, sign, or wonder, then I would believe!" This idea, though, ...

God does perform miracles today and I'm proof. I did not believe in God but he still loved me and helped me when I was killing myself, emotionally, mentally, physically. He led me to Alcoholics Anonymous and through AA I found God and Jesus. Without God I would not be sober today. Without AA I would not have found God and Jesus. I now have peace, happiness and strength. I have faith and want to pass the message on to others. I thank God for all this!

Dan Carlson here:

I recently reread Corrie ten Boom's classic "The Hiding Place," and "In My Father's House." Supernatural miracles were experienced on several occasions. One such miracle comes to mind:

While her sister Betsie and Corrie were in the Ravensbruck concentration camp, they were subjected to stripped-down searches on numerous occasions. Corrie was hiding a New Testament which was an absolute MUST for their spiritual survival.

As she approached the searching officers, she deliberately, intentionally, and on purpose asked for a miracle - specifically, that her body become invisible to the guards. And God answered her prayer precisely as she had asked.

She was miraculously made invisible to the guards, and passed the inspection-point without any of them seeing her, thus, being able to keep her New Testament.

"Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever." (Heb. 13:8)

"I am the Lord; I change not." (Malachi 3:6)

"With whom is no variableness, nor shadow of turning." (James 1:17)

Supernatural miracles happened in the past; and they will happen in the future (i.e., the two witnesses who are killed and come back to life - Rev. 11:1-14). What makes us think that the PRESENT is exempt?

God Bless U,

Yes, God does miracles always since the begining of the creation and until god`s wrath,
Yes, it is a miracle that a non believer like myself, started to believe in christ and came with so much understanding and love and wisdom for god,

Mathew 26:2 “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

Mathew 26:17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

Mathew 26:18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

Luke 22:14 When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

Mathew 26:26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”

Mathew 26:27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[b] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Luke 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Yes, as i understood by the word of God, whoever takes part in Jesus flesh and blood will have eternal life, and god will raise him at the last day, as Jesus promised the bread of Passover, and the wine of Passover to be his flesh and blood, and the source for forgiveness of one`s sins, which is the new covenant.

He not only performs miracles every day {ANYTHING can happen in the night while you're sleeping, but you still wake up.}, but He also still answers prayers!

For a LONG time, I couldn't figure out why my No-Bake Cookies wouldn't set properly on the wax paper. The flavor was still there, and I would just use a spoon to scoop it when I wanted some "unset" cookie.

One day, I wanted to make a double batch for a church social. I KNEW there was a chance the same thing would happen. So I prayed to the Lord, and asked Him if there was something that I was missing, please stop me at that step.

I started making the cookies, following the directions. When I got to one point, I KNOW I heard "STOP!" in my mind! I took a moment to realize what I was ABOUT to do, and looked at the directions again. Then I said to myself, "Is THAT it? That ONE little thing I was about to do is what keeps making the cookies not set right?" So I continued the rest of the recipe, skipping that ONE step.

BINGO! That WAS it! I had FINALLY had a GREAT batch of cookies for the church social! So, YES! God still answers prayers today!

{By the way, you're probably wondering what the step was.} The recipe calls for softened butter. So I always put the butter in the microwave to soften it. The thing is: it's butter that is spreadable from the fridge, so it's soft enough already! By putting it in the microwave, I made the butter runny, which made the cookies not set right.

I have NOT been able to thank the Lord enough for showing me! THANK YOU, LORD!

Praise God in the Highest indeed!
Yes, for sure He still Is the same and for evermore. His followers will do much more and greater miracles in His mighty Excellent Name Jesus Christ the Lord indeed! We should not be afraid of miracles, rather be observant and seek the Lord in all things so that we do not get fooled by the deceiver, who is unfortunately also doing the same kind of miracles. Just like Moses' snake and Pharaoh's snake they were looking identical, but Pharaoh's sorcerer was not of God and therefore had an opposed spirit in it.

Let's be alert and also wise and prudent in Christ's own Spirit that is but Holy and True. Amen!

For what reason might God perform a miracle today? I have heard the argument so many times before! “Since we have the completed Bible there is no need for any ministry to be ratified by miracles.” Others declare, thinking it is the height of spiritual thought; “we should seek the gift of love not the gifts of the Spirit.” It sounds virtuous enough but is it a valid mindset in any Church age?

All the nine gifts of the Spirit are acts of God’s unfathomable love. The purpose of miracles is to manifest expressions of the love of God poured out by the Holy Spirit. Paul understood this and that’s why he implored the Church to seek the best gifts especially that they might prophesy. A healing miracle is a powerful expression of Divine Love that delivers wretched and oppressed souls from agonizing pain and misery. The same can be said of those tormented with demons. I have seen many demons cast out during the course of ministry and to enjoy the fruit of such deliverances is always producing worship in my heart to the all-powerful miracle worker who dwells in every true believer (Jesus). Some of the miracles that were performed in the Bible were executions of divine judgment but most were for the liberation of oppressed souls.

Paul urged the Church to desire them with zealous hunger and so should we today. They will come to those who seek in this manner there is no doubt.
I am seeing many wonderful miracles here where I am now. To seek them with a white hot passion for the tormented and oppressed all around us is what we need to do. When God releases them to us it is our serious responsibility to make sure we walk in the Spirit and not let carnality blight us. The expressions of God’s power are always filled with love but the person delivering them may or not be walking in love.

1Co 12:31 But zealously strive after the better gifts. And yet I show to you a more excellent way.
What was the “more excellent way”? The more excellent way was the “gifts of the Spirit plus Love” not love alone. They are meant to work together. They should be ministered in love by the gifted to have their most fruitful effect.

Yes it’s true that some will treat them badly and they will respond negatively but that does not mean that God has stopped showing His love by using His servants to impart them. Some even today would show such contempt as did Herod who mocked Christ by demanding a miracle. The Pharisees demanded proof but the fact is they knew there was an abundance of evidence for Christ’s miracles and many were eye witnesses of them but that did not change their wicked hearts. Nevertheless Jesus continued the miracles of love as He continues them this present day. When there is a famine of miracles there is a famine of faith. Where there are abundant miracles there is abundant faith.

My wife and I had been invited by a Church to teach marriage and family principles because the Church was suffering severely of broken relationships and poor communication among family members. In the course of teaching I had given my testimony. I was aware that the Church had an anti-charismatic viewpoint but as I was sharing my testimony I felt the Holy Spirit filling me with boldness. At the end I made this statement, “Don’t let anyone put doubt in your heart because God still works miracles today!” There was a lady in a wheelchair in that meeting. I hadn’t spoken to her after the lesson and had not intended to pray for her unless asked. We were preparing to leave the Camp that afternoon when the two daughters of that lady called my wife and I to pray for their mother (the lady in the wheelchair) we immediately went to pray for her laying hands on her and we held her by the hand asked her to attempt to stand. Slowly she got up and started to walk and feel a little strength then she sat back in the wheel chair. We left the venue and in the same week they called me to go and pray again for that lady and later her daughter’s reported her totally healed.

In 2009 My husband (now ex-his choice) had taken an overdose and was in a coma in ICU. I called many people for prayers, there were prayer chains going worldwide for my husband. His sons didn't believe in prayer or God. And they ridiculed me for my faith. Everyday I stood beside his bed and prayed "God my faith is but a mustard seed please awaken Russ and let him be fully healed by your touch." I believed on the scripture Luke 17:6, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you, without reservation. I also added "your will be done" (referenced form Matthew 26:39 "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.").
On the fourth day the doctor told me "He is probably brain-dead, I don't think he will make it. Please gather the family. The best you can do it to remove him from the machine". I talked with the hospital advocate and told her I wanted anything of value, organs, eyes or skin to be donated. She passed on the word and told me to go home--it was 4 p.m. and I was shook up. As I was leaving the male nurse was hanging a bag--he told me it was antibiotics for the him to be a donor. I went home and didn't eat--actually I never ate before I left for the hospital, nor at the hospital.

Every evening my son would have something there to eat and I could only eat 2-3 bites. That evening I couldn't eat at all. Yet I was never hungry--I felt God sustained me. I made the calls to family. At 3 a.m. Russ woke up. As morning got later family arrived and he was talking. The nurse pulled me aside and said he still may not walk again. By noon he was moving his feet and the doctor arrived. The doctor looked straight at me and said "He is a Miracle man, it must have been all those prayers you had people saying."

Two days later he was released, the only thing wrong was he never remembered taking the pills nor being in a coma. Still his one son would not believe and took him out of the hospital before I got there to pick him up. His son convinced him to divorce me claiming it was me that caused him to take the pills. Strange thing is some friends of his have tried getting him to believe (my husband was not a believer either). I had hope his experience would show him that God exists. He did prove to my son who had been on the edge for awhile that their is a God and miracles can still happen today.

My son and I have a much better relationship today. My ex and I talk on the phone each week to see how the other is doing. His MS is worse so he just started using a cane. We were best friends before the marriage and are once more best friends even though we are divorced.

I testify that Miracles still happen you just have to believe in them. They are not everyday - they are for a reason--I thought it would prove to Russ and his Son that God is for real. Instead it proved to my Son that God is for real. God answers prayers in surprising ways---even when your faith is failing and you can only hold unto a small piece of it the size of a mustard seed. I say hold on tight to that little seed of faith because it can still be mighty as it was for me.

Does God do miracles today? He most certainly does. Who allows the sun to come up in same place every day and go down the same place every evening? Not NASA but GOD! Who forms life in the womb? GOD!
Who gives us air, blood, a mind? GOD! Whom is that created everything, knows everything, see everything and gives us a Free Will to chose whom we will serve? GOD! Yes GOD still performs miracles, EVERY-DAY!

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
