There are no oral or written "traditions." What is written in verses 2:1-3? Our Apostle, Paul, tells his fellow Christians not to tremble over the rumor that the Tribulation and the 2nd Coming are just around the corner. Read verses 5-14. He isn't talking about the Jewish traditions, the "traditions of men." He wants them to remain steadfast in the understanding that there will be a return of Jesus.

"Traditions" they are to "hold fast to" are those truths they have been taught. "Traditions," in this sense, is a warning. In effect, Paul is saying "Don't trust your traditions --- trust what you have been taught, what you have learned."
