If you hate someone, you need to ask God to help you to forgive them and then you will be right with God. No true Christian should hate anyone. Hate the sin, not the sinner. You should love your neighbor (one of the 10 commandments). Only Christians go to Heaven, so pray about this sin, and ask God to help you with it and He will.

My answer is yes. However, you will also suffer in this life for giving a place to the enemy in you life (Ephesians 4:27). Sin always allows the devil to "steal, kill and destroy-John10:10. But the gift of God is life, which you DO have If you've received The Lord as your savior. The thing to do is to also receive Him as Lord (your Master) by submitting to Him, to His Truth (His Word). You can 'hate' because you're still thinking in a 'carnal' way (following flesh and not spirit). Don't condemn yourself. As you learn His Word, and that Word makes you free (from the deception of hate, greed, lust, etc) His Holy Spirit will lead you into a sanctified life. Rejoice my bother! Praise and worship your God in the beauty of His holiness! Much love and peace to you! He will guide you by His Spirit.

No.

This is what Jesus said in Matthew 18:21-19:1

"18:21 Then Peter came up and said to him, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?" 22 Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.23 "Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. 24 When he began the reckoning, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents; 25 and as he could not pay, his lord ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, `Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' 27 And out of pity for him the lord of that servant released him and forgave him the debt.

28 But that same servant, as he went out, came upon one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and seizing him by the throat he said, `Pay what you owe.' 29 So his fellow servant fell down and besought him, `Have patience with me, and I will pay you.' 30 He refused and went and put him in prison till he should pay the debt. 31 When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their lord all that had taken place.

32 Then his lord summoned him and said to him, `You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you besought me; 33 and should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' 34 And in anger his lord delivered him to the jailers, till he should pay all his debt. 35 So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart." 19:1 Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan."

The Lord can remove all of the burdens from your shoulders, and give you the grace to take it away from you. Even if the person did some absolutely terrible thing that in the eyes of the world is unforgivable, understand that unforgiveness is unforgivable in the eyes of the Lord, unless there is repentance.

Also, you're not hurting the person you've yet to forgive, you're only harming yourself. Not only is it righteous, but it's self-liberating to not hate and to instead love this person. Jesus loves you! And so do I. I'll be praying for you. God bless!

I think that you have to ask yourself why you have hatred. It is very hard to let go sometimes of this feeling, but it must be done.

Do you resent something they did to you or didn't do for you? Try to step into their shoes and see it from their perspective. Maybe they were in difficult circumstances. Or, it is possible that they were just downright mean. Try to find it in your heart to forgive them. Confess to God that you are having trouble, and ask Him to help you. Jesus understands forgiveness because He forgives all of us for our sins, so asking Jesus can help.

Perhaps you resent them for something they have that you don't. Try to realize all of the wonderful opportunities that God has given you, and that perhaps this person is missing some things that you have. Also, some things are harder for some people than others. I guess the thing to keep in mind is that things are not always how they seem. That said, even if things ARE as they seem, and this person is really bad, you have to be the "bigger" person and forgive them. God is SO proud when we forgive people. It brings us closer to Him, and in turn, closer to going to heaven.

So as hard as this is for me to say, I'd have to say, yes, we must be hate-free to go to heaven. You don't have to go bowling with them on weekends, or agree with the decisions they have made, but you have to be able to set aside differences for God's sake, and love them. Recognize their weaknesses and the fact that WE ALL have them. If you somehow found yourself in their shoes, wouldn't you like to be forgiven? It's that same forgiveness that is so important. And so difficult. Best of luck! And God bless :)
