After reading and praying over my Bible, some things 'dawn' on me. I find comfort in this question of the Trinity as outlined below:

Romans 1:20 tells us in essence that we are to compare what we know to the mysteries of the Bible including the God-head.

Genesis 1:26 tells us that God decided to make man "in our image". (Our?) The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

So from that I contend that man is in God's image as a 'trinity'. Our brain function that controls our automatic breathing and heart beat, etc. - the power that keeps us living, represents the Father and cannot be seen, our body represents Jesus or the manifestation of our person, and our - for lack of a better word - invisible personality represents the Holy Spirit.

These are all separate but are all combined into one person. We wander along with our fleshly 'personality' until God's Spirit draws us to a saving knowledge of the reason Christ sacrificed His life, His blood, to rescue us from perishing. We are told that God loved this whole world so much that He supplied His only BORN son as a flesh and blood sacrifice for man's sin. (I believe that all other "Sons of God" are created beings such as angels) Jesus was the only one who was begotten and born.

Once we accept Christ's sacrifice and ask that God replace our personality with that of His Holy Spirit, the Spirit then fills our being and 'seals' us for eternal salvation.

It is my belief that everyone has his name in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world. 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that it is God's will that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. So we are all predestined to be saved.

However, if we continue to reject God's Spirit until the death of our body, our name is blotted out of the book of life. But, if we accept His spirit and His sacrifice, our name is 'sealed' and cannot be blotted out. As a child, I took art lessons, beginning with pencil and then pastels - chalk. Before the drawing was sealed, I was able to erase and rework, but once the clear Krylon went on sealing the work, no erasure was then possible.

I recognize my sinful and undeserving state and I have accepted Christ's redeeming sacrifice for my sins. I have asked God's Holy Spirit to fill my being and to displace my fleshly nature. As Jesus said in John 13:8, He has washed me and I have a part in Him. And I continually go to Him for the "foot washing" that is necessary from my walking around in the filth of the world.
