I believe that God speaks to us today through the loving words and actions of Jesus who is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. God the Father's voice sounds loving in a corrective way because He is Holy and I am a sinner. It is difficult also to see and hear the love of Jesus because of sin and the Devil. Thanks be for God's grace and the faith He has given us.

How do we know if it is the Holy Spirit

How terrible that we must challenge scripture with scripture

Mat 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
Mat 4:6 Andsaith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Mat 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

2Co 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

seduce
1.
lead somebody astray: to persuade somebody to do something by making it seem desirable or exciting
2.
win somebody over: to persuade somebody into giving support or agreement

We must make sure in any way possible..

Jdg 6:37 Well, I am putting some wool on the ground where we thresh the wheat. If in the morning there is dew only on the wool but not on the ground, then I will know that you are going to use me to rescue Israel."
Jdg 6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
Jdg 6:39 Then Gideon said to God, "Don't be angry with me; let me speak just once more. Please let me make one more test with the wool. This time let the wool be dry, and the ground be wet."
Jdg 6:40 That night God did that very thing. The next morning the wool was dry, but the ground was wet with dew

Detailed instructions
Act 10:19 Peter was still trying to understand what the vision meant, when the Spirit said, "Listen! Three men are here looking for you.
Act 10:4 He stared at the angel in fear and said, "What is it, sir?" The angel answered, "God is pleased with your prayers and works of charity, and is ready to answer you.
Act 10:5 And now send some men to Joppa for a certain man whose full name is Simon Peter.
Act 10:6 He is a guest in the home of a tanner of leathernamed Simon, who lives by the sea."
Act 10:18 They called out and asked, "Is there a guest here by the name of Simon Peter?"

The Shepherds duty to train the flock
Act 20:28 So keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock which the Holy Spirit has placed in your care. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he made his own through the blood of his Son.
Act 20:29 I know that after I leave, fierce wolves will come among you, and they will not spare the flock.
Act 20:30 The time will come when some men from your own group will tell lies to lead the believers away after them.
Act 20:31 Watch, then, and remember that with many tears, day and night, I taught every one of you for three years.
Act 20:32 "And now I commend you to the care of God and to the message of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you the blessings God has for all his people.

The duty of Overseers
Eph 4:14 Then we shall no longer be children, carried by the waves and blown about by every shifting wind of the teaching of deceitful people, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent.
Test every “word from the Holy Sprit” with God`s Word
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
GNB) Certainly not! God must be true, even though all human beings are liars. As the scripture says, "You must be shown to be right when you speak; you must win your case when you are being tried."(God are tried today because of our oppininos and interpretations)
Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel that is different from the one we preached to you, may he be condemned to hell!
(Darby) But if even *we* or an angel out of heaven announce as glad tiding
