I believe there was a very good possibility, yes. Although Christ's earthly ministry was primarily to the Jews (Matthew 10:5-7) a few Gentiles were saved along the way.

The other centurion in Matthew 8:5-13,
The Samaritan woman and some of the community in John 4:6-29
The Greek lady in Matthew 15:21-28

In Matthew 11:27 The Lord explains the procedure and constraints of enlightenment: "All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him."

The Lord told Peter in Matthew 16:17 "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven."

I've often wondered about Pontius Pilate. Although he never acknowledged or repented in the scriptures, he sure knew there was something special about The Lord!
