Is it biblical for men to read books by woman authors?

"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:11-12.

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:3-5

According to these verses woman aren't suppose to teach men, they are to teach younger woman. But what if I wrote a book, (non fictional, theological) would it be wrong for a man to read my book that he could 'learn' from?

As long as the book was accurate and morally sound, you would be doing good by sharing your gift of writing that God has given to you. You may have new insights and ways of appreciating the Bible that may inspire others and bring them closer to Christ, and I don't see the harm in that.

The verses quoted above have to be seen in its context. The context is the role in the church. A woman is not permitted to teach in the church when it is gathering officially. But reading the book is learning in private. Many churches may not invite preachers belonging to a different theological persuation yet members may individually read their books. Don't think teaching is absolutely forbidden for women. Many husbands learn from the lives of their wives. And that too without words.
